Marseille – Day 1

We arrived here last night completely beat, having been traveling for over 24 hours straight, 36 without sleep. Woke up late and got started.

Marseille is beautiful and BIG. Went to 2 small art museums, one in an old poor house (La Vieille Charité) and one in Palais Longchamp. Rode the metro and the tram around town when we did not walk. Dinner late, as the custom (wisely) in southern Europe.Image

  1. Wow, it looks magnificent! Thanks for sharing. If you get a chance and want to enjoy the beach/watersports, go to Ile de Bendor, right off of Bandol. I spent 10 days there in the ’80s at a Physics conference. Very beautiful.

    • Don, great to hear from you! Thanks for the tip; will check out Ile de Bendor if we have time. We go to Nice tomorrow for a week and hope to go to the beach there.

  2. Wonderful photos! I particularly enjoy the graffiti Art. Is that an actual photo of your meal, seafood I presume?
